노량진수산시장 Noryangjin Fish Market for all the seafood in Korea

Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market or shortly 노량진 수산시장 Noryangjin Fish Market is an extensive farmers fish market in the neighborhood of Noryangjin-dong in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, South Korea.

Opened in 1927 on Uiju Boulevard, Noryangjin is one of Korea's largest seafood markets. The vibrant, abundant year-round market is connected to Noryangjin Station by a bridge.

Over 830 seafood items are available for wholesale and retail purchases. Main items include clams, shrimp, blue crabs, octopuses, sea cucumbers, halibuts, and snappers.

Visitors can purchase fresh seafood and get it sliced into sashimi at one of the restaurants in the market. The most famous live octopus is always recommended when you visit this place. Opening around one a.m. every day, the market offers an authentic marketplace feel with bustling patrons and fish sellers calling out the day's catch.

Opening prices of the seafoods might be high. You can actually bargain for a more reservable price if you think you are overly charged.

So let's take a mini tour on how Noryangjin Fish Market looks like.
The place that where my mom, grandmother and aunties would love. A wet market heaven for them.

Noryangjin Fish Market view from upstairs.

Upstairs at the first floor is actually Restaurants. Noryangjin Fish Market, is not only a market that you buy your seafood home and cook. For those that don't want to cook them at home, you can actually still purchase those seafood and choose a restaurant to dine in. They will cook them for you !

Spot T.O.P there !

But the restaurant we went was not upstairs but the one behind the market. LOL.
Cause the shop that we bought the seafood from leaded us here. I think the probably own of have shared with the restaurant too.

They have bags for you to put your shoes in too. Yes, meaning that you need to take off your shoes in this restaurant because you practically seat on the floor and have your meal.

Oh yeaa, so these are what we bought from the fish market.

Truthfully telling, this is so not my place because I don't eat seafood except fish.
Not that I don't, but I can't. Yes, allergy .. Damn sad, all the prawns, crabs, oysters ........ This explains why I put a "T_T" at the prawns earlier. So you can already guess what I ate here la. LOL.
But anyway, if you are a seafood lover, this is the place you should come too when you are in Korea !
