KTX the #1 Public Transportation in Korea

What's KTX ?
For those who don't know, KTX is the short form of Korea Train eXpress in South Korea. It is high-speed rail system, operated by Korail. KTX aka Train / Subway.

The KTX is South Korea no.1 public transport besides the public bus. I use the KTX allot when I am in Korea. No car ? So the KTX is the one that takes me everywhere. It's really convenient as there are stations everywhere and it will lead you to anywhere by just hopping into the right trains. So convenient which makes lives easier in Korea.

The Ticketing and Reload Card Machine
Don't worry if you are not fluent in Korea. The Machine can speak Korean, English, Mandarin and Japanese. Yes, not only those four languages appears on the screen but also the instructions voice. So I don't think you will get lost purchasing for a ticket. Worst come to worst, call the subway security. They will help you and guide you.

My cute, mini KTX Card / T-Money Card. LOL.
Don't miss understand, the machine won't give you this card. I got this card from "Imagine Your Korea". The machine will give you a normal KTX Card and you have to return it back to the machine upon reaching your destination station stop. But if you want cards like this, you can purchase it at some shops that sells them.

Some K-pop chops like this does sell T-Money cards with your idols faces on them ! About 20,000won if I am not wrong. You can always go and check them out ! ☺️

How does a train station in Korea looks like ?
They are very clean ! LOL.

Announcements
There are announcements in every trains. This actually helps allot for you not to miss your destinations. Announcements are made with 4 different languages. Korean, English, Mandarin and Japanese.

The arrival of train
☞ The train is now approaching. Everyone please step back.

☞ The train is now arriving. Please stand back. Please be careful when getting on and off the train.

The closing of train doors
☞ The doors are closing.
μΆœμž…λ¬Έ λ‹«μŠ΅λ‹ˆλ‹€.
Chul-ibmun dadseubnida.
So when you hear this, if you are at the door making your entrance or exiting, is either you speed up or you step back and wait for the next train or destination to get off. Please DON'T get bang by the train doors ! Missing your stations, getting off at another one and taking another train back is better than getting yourself bang by the doors. The next train in Korea come in less than 5 minutes, so you can always wait for the next one if your are not in a hurry. Their punctuality of trains timing is always there.

Always make sure that you are at the correct station and waiting at the correct side.

πŸ™„ πŸ€”  KTX main rules that you MUST know ! πŸ€” 😳
It's basically normal public transportation rules that you should already know.

☞ Priority seats are only for senior citizens, handicaps and pregnant women. So if you do not belong to one of those 3, DO NOT seat there.

☞ Normal seating, of cause you can seat on them anytime. But always remember, priority to the elders first. Respect to the elders is very important.

If you are getting off in like 1 to 2 or 3 stations. I don't think your really need to find a place to seat. Standing is good for your legs too even though you may walk allot in Korea. LOL. But seriously, I don't see a need in it especially if the train is pack. Give priority to others first unless if the train is really empty then its up to you. Make your wise decisions πŸ˜Š

Some trains have this indication to tell you which stop are you in.
Follow the red line so that you do not miss you stop, if you don't understand their announcements.

Back to the train stations ..

No idea which station you are / which station you entered / which station you came our from ?
Find this name at the pillars. Almost every alternate pillars have the station name, so you won't get lost.

The Escalators

On the escalator. The fast and express lane is one the left.
So if you want to stand and wait for the escalator to bring you up or down, stand on the right.
If you are one the left lane, you have to keep walking. You can't stand there and block other people that might be in a hurry using that are using the escalator.

Really in a hurry or if you want to exercise ? Use the stairs.

If you are in certain subways. There are lanes with ✓ and ✘.
So walk at the lanes ✓ with the and avoid the lanes with the ✘.
Don't so smartly go against the traffic or you will find people walking against your direction.

Because you are in Korea, so you can see your celebrities / idols faces everywhere in the subway station.

So this is roughly what and how trains and train stations looks like in Korea.
Not so informative and I have no idea what I just wrote too. So yeaa,,. Thank for reading ! πŸ€—
