The Yongpyong Resort is located at a very inhabitable range of 700 meters above sea level. Yongpyong Resort is found at the eastern edge of Asia, about 200km from Seoul, the capital city of South Korea. With an annual snowfall average of 250cm, the surrounding area possesses a beautiful environment, which allows for the enjoyment of a wide array of winter sports including skiing from
mid-November to early April. On its 4,300 acres, you will find a 45-hole Golf course, 31 ski slopes, premium hotels, European-style condominiums and many other leisure facilities that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
When you first reach there, go to the information counter to get their map to guide you around, especially for first timers. Map always helps to guide you around.

Dragon Plaza
Dragon Plaza is a place where you can find food restaurants, buy tickets for the gondola ride, rentals of ski and snowboarding attires / equipments / class and etc ..
Don't know how to ski&bored ? Don't worry if you really want to try and gain experience or even learn ! Because they have lessons of you too, private lessons / beginner classes.

Gondola
Okay, the real one. Taking the gondola from Dragon Plaza Platform up to the Mountain / Yongpyong Resort and you can enjoy the beautiful natural landscapes from the sky.

Yongpyong Resort
Yongpyong Resort, located on the ridge of Mt.Balwangsan, is the first domestic ski resort opening in 1975. With average 250cm of snow each year you can enjoy skiing from November until April of the following year. Compared to other ski resorts, ski season is considerably longer. It is 215km from Seoul, and with the construction of a 4-lane highway, the travel time has been shortened to 2 hours.
When ski season finishes, you can enjoy golf from April to November as well.
This is where the 1998 World Cup Ski Competition and the 1999 Gangwon Winter Asian Games were held. The Rainbow Red*Silver*Gold slopes have been authorized by the International Ski Federation (ISF). Also there are slopes for beginners such as the Yellow Run and the Pink Run, and the new Red Run and Green Run for intermediates. There are 18 slopes and 15 lifts in total, with a 3.7km long gondola which can accommodate 8 people at once. There are other convenient indoor facilities such as the swimming pool and sauna, and within the complex there is a sledding hill, indoor golf course with a capacity of 6 holes, survival game park and the indoor mountain bike path. There are also the forest bath walk, archery, crocket, tennis courts and the campsites.
The view from up here is really pretty even though the wind is so strong and cold during winter.

Din't go or try any skiing and snowboarding. The main purpose why we went there was actually to see how Yongpyong looks like and see snow. LOL. But of cause the urge of at least trying out one of their activities.
So we tried the 눈썰매 Sledding.
Families with children can enjoy Sled in the 200-meter-wide Sledding Slope. Its really fun ! 😊
💁🏻But make sure you listen to their instructions and advices, if not you might go flying and hurt yourself.
Hold the two side handles of the tube / tyre and never let go of it until you reach the bottom and get off it. When you are almost reaching the bottom / ending of the slope, make sure you use the both ankle of your feet to brake. Yes, and the first time I did it, my right shoe went flying. LOL. So the 오빠 there went and pick up my shoe and bring it back for me. An advice, wear a comfortable and not so loose shoe so that your shoe won't go flying off half way when you break. If not, your feet will freeze throughout the day like mine. Because all the iced had went into the shoe. But, I will say it again, it was really fun coming down the slope. There is also a walkalator to bring you up, so you don't need to walk all the way up.

I shall try this one day. Really envy the schools here in Korea as I think skiing is also part of their school activities. There are lots of school children here together with their school team. This kind of sport activities is so cool ! 🎿 ⛷ 🏂

Do bring your gloves there espicially when it during winter or your hands will freeze.
In the city, you might not need gloves during winter, but here in Yongpyong, YES you do !
